Influences-
Everything I have ever listened to and liked has influenced me in a way, so I can’t really list all the
bands that have done so. I listen to good stuff from any genre, but most of what I listen to could be
described as "rock." Really narrows it down eh? But I can say that ever since I bought their album, Kid
A, Radiohead has been my favourite band. So I guess you could say that’s where a good portion of my
influence comes from. But anywho, here is a partial list of bands/singers that have had some sort of
influence on me. Some of them I don't even know that well, but they might have a few songs that have
had a big influence on me-
Radiohead
Jeff Buckley
REM
Bob Dylan
Nirvana
Red Hot Chili Peppers
U2
Incubus
Coldplay
Led Zeppelin
Deftones
Bjork
Orgy
The Shins
Audioslave
Yo La Tengo
Sigur Ros
Wilco
The Verve
Beck
Portishead
Sting
Nine-Inch Nails
Pink Floyd
Nick Drake
Massive Attack
Guster
The Doves
Rage Against the Machine
Counting Crows
Moby
Collective Soul
Pearl Jam
Simon and Garfunkel
Aphex Twin
Tool
The Black Heart Procession
Boards of Canada
Grandaddy
Death In Vegas
The Postal Service
While my songwriting comes from too many influences to list, I can be a bit more specific about who I
try and sound like with my voice. So here is that list-
1) Jeff Buckley – Absolutely my favourite voice in rock
2) Nick Drake – King of mellow
3) Thom Yorke (Radiohead) – Bizarre yet beautiful
4) Chris Martin (Coldplay) – A little like Thom’s, only safer
5) Beck – Not too many low voices in rock, so he’s kind of a hero in that respect
6) Chris Cornell (Audioslave, Soundgarden) – King of the grunge voices
